This was such a wonderful project to stitch during the gloomy days of winter...bright yellows, oranges and mango colours livened each page. It is huge, very squidgy and fun.... and I made a cotton bag in which to keep it from a vintage traycloth....

After two years of stitching in between studying I finally completed this soft padded book - using old dyed cotton sheets and vintage lace - kantha stitched with pure silk thread...

Very pleased this mammoth layered piece is now completed...I thoroughly enjoyed making it - it was my therapy cloth during my study time with OU in Art History!

I continue to stitch this large panel on a daily basis...all hand stitching as my needle guides me....I add extra scraps of lace and fabric as I stitch....

Today I visited the Boro Exhibition at Somerset House in London. A wonderful exhibition showing rare Japanese indigo patched textiles which appear to transcend their origins - to become exquisite objects of abstract art.

so thrilled to spot Mr Kingfisher at Verulamium Lake this afternoon....he was sitting there posing - or maybe just basking in the sun. Such a beautiful day.
