I stitched this woven piece as a sample for a workshop I held at Hertfordshire branch of the Embroiderers Guild with all my friends - we all had a wonderful time and everyone went home with a piece of work to transform into a bag, pot or panel.... lovely day indeed.

I enjoyed making this kantha stitched panel from oddments of fabric I found at home, from our EG SalesTable and Charity shops! Heavily stitched yet a joy to make. Instructions on how to make this panel can be found in Stitch with the Embroiderers' Guild magazine.....published this week January 2015 - Issue 93. Helen's beautiful work can also be seen in the same Issue on page 25 see photo below.... Helen is an expert at Colonial Knots!

This was such a wonderful project to stitch during the gloomy days of winter...bright yellows, oranges and mango colours livened each page. It is huge, very squidgy and fun.... and I made a cotton bag in which to keep it from a vintage traycloth....

I continue to stitch this large panel on a daily basis...all hand stitching as my needle guides me....I add extra scraps of lace and fabric as I stitch....
